As of 2004, out of 72000 registered doctors with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, only about 27,000 practise in Nigeria.

As of 2004, out of 72000 registered doctors with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, only about 27,000 practice in Nigeria. Dr. Biodun Ogungbo the medical director of Brain & Spine Surgery, Abuja, relocated from the UK to try and reverse this trend.
