Ugo Okafor is an Architect and Design publisher. He has worked on a variety of building projects in the Far East, Europe and Africa. He is currently the design director for Arcepa which is involved in a couple of design jobs in Nigeria.

Previously he was involved in project managing the finishes package for the £70million St Pancras International FirstCapital Connect train station in London. He’s currently a prototype engineer at the GE Lagos Garage, in Victoria Island, Lagos where he has assisted lots of entrepreneurs develop and build their prototypes. He also a digital fabrication enthusiast.

He is the founder and publisher of African Architecture and Design, a site that focuses on trends of sustainability in design and construction within developing economies. He also co-edits NIDF, a blog
that presents the need for viable strategic infrastructure in developing countries.

Mr. Okafor recently co-designed and completed a proposal for a 400 room 5 star hotel in Port Harcourt Nigeria. The client has further commissioned a local Parkinson’s Disease Rehabilitation centre.
In Hong Kong, Ugo was part of a team that helped deliver the construction of the new 5 Star Peninsular Hotel Tower on time and on budget. His responsibilities included production of coordinated MEP drawings and planning schedules. He played a similar role on the MTR Hong Kong Station, Peninsular Hotel Bangkok projects.
Mr Okafor was the lead at a Facility Management team in the Asia Pacific branch of Credit Suisse. Their role included publishing and managing the company’s staff occupancy data on the intranet in the late nineties.
